Stone Sour unleashes
Two-ninths of Des Moines metal flagship band Slipknot, singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root, led their old/new band Stone Sour through a blistering set Sunday night in front of about 1,200 fans at Toad Holler. The five-piece kicked off with its forthcoming single, "Get Inside," and even took time to lead the audience in a sing-along of "Happy Birthday" for drummer Joel Ekman's mother, Virginia.
Taylor and Root worked up a powerful sweat, even without stifling masks to trap their body heat.
