Slipknot's Corey Taylor and James Root will be performing together as part of Stone Sour at the Toad Holler in Des Moines, IA on June 23rd with Downthesun and Index Case. The group are expected to perform some of their original material along with tracks from Taylor's forthcoming solo offering, which will now reportedly be issued under the Stone Sour name as both of his previous moniker choices (Superego, Closure) had copyright problems. The aforementioned album is currently being mixed by Toby Wright (Korn, Alice In Chains) and is tentatively eyeing a September 10th release through Roadrunner/Island/Def Jam. Both Taylor and Root were originally full-time members of Stone Sour prior to joining Slipknot.

Directing A Prayer
Disturbed have lined up the track "Prayer" as the first single from their upcoming new album "Believe", which they are currently mixing with Andy Wallace (Faith No More, System Of A Down). A video for the track will be shot in Los Angeles, CA next week with the Brothers Strause (Linkin Park, Godsmack) directing while a fall release through Reprise is being eyed for the album. In the meantime, group frontman David Draiman recently commented to LAUNCH on the songs from the forthcoming effort saying:
"Initially before we even started writing any of these, Danny and I had a little conversation where I kind of asked him, 'Give me some room to run.' We're still obviously very much metal. But I wanted to try some different things. He wanted to try different things. We wanted to grow and mature and show some development. People get tired of a band who put out records that are exactly the same. It was very challenging to us on many different levels. Number one, how so we improve ourselves within ourselves? And then, how do we rise to the challenge of the whole shadow of the sophomore recording."

Censorship And Tribute
Glassjaw were forced to censor the recently released video for their current single "Cosmopolitan Blood Loss" in order to have it played on various video outlets. The original version for the clip, which stars acclaimed actor Vincent Gallo, ended with him shooting the band to death after finally tracking them down. That scene was found to be too violent to be aired however and as such the edit of the video which will be sent out for play and is also currently available for download on the bands website www.glassjaw.com, merely ends with Gallo giving the band a bitter stare. An uncensored edit of the video with the controversial final scene still does exist, though it seems unlikely that it will see the light of day due to its violent nature. Despite this though, the band do remain hopeful that it will be put out at some point or another down the line. Glassjaw's new album "Worship And Tribute" will land in stores on July 09th through I AM/Warner.
