Metal Blade Records
...Providing an outlet for the underground for 20 years

Metal Blade Records News & Tour update
October 11, 2002

Fellow Crownheads, this is it! Your old buddy Mr. Johan Lindstrand is back
in the band as the new permanent singer!

Hear what the man himself has to say about all this:
"Alright planet earth!!!! This is Johan Lindstrand speaking! I’m very proud
to say that I’m back in THE CROWN. This time with full fuckin` force. My
commitment and dedication is 110% and I am very excited about the future of
the band. I have already rehearsed on a couple of new songs and they fuckin`
blew me away…really awesome. It feels great to scream with the band again
and I’m looking forward to see you on the road so what I wanna say is: THE
CROWN HAS RETURNED!!!!!" (Johan Lindstrand)

Metal Blade Recording artists BLUDGEON are heading out with Manowar on a
European tour!
These 4 unorthodox musicians were the first signing to Manowar's Magic
Circle Music and were produced by legendary Manowar bassist Joey Demaio.
These Chicago speed demons consume extreme rock and heave its remains right
back in your face! Bludgeon will wreak havoc across Europe beginning
November 1st. They will be truly unstoppable alongside the uncompromising
king’s of metal Manowar!

Callenish Circle…New studio-album planned for 2003...
Callenish Circle’s plan is to enter the studio again in January 2003 to
record the follow-up to the "Flesh_Power_Dominion"-album. This 4th album
will be entitled "My Passion // Your Pain" and it will be recorded again at
Germany-based Stage One Studio with producer Andy Classen. For artwork the
band plans on working with Niklas Sundin again. Some new song titles are
Dwelling in Disdain, Soul Messiah, This Truculent Path, Once More and
title-track How My Passion Is Your Pain. Musically wise the new material
will be in the same vein as the music on “Flesh_Power_Dominion” but probably
even more intense and more extreme, without loosing the sense for catchy
melodies and atmosphere, which always have been trademarks

CANNIBAL CORPSE tour dates just in…
Cannibal Corpse will be hitting the road this fall for their 3rd full forced
US tour since the release of Gore Obsessed in February 2002. The band will
be taking out Hate Eternal, Macabre, and label mates Cattle Decapitation.
This is definitely going to be one of the sickest tours out so make sure you
are there to experience the carnage. This will also be the chance for all
you Cannibal fans to get your rotting little hands on the bands new EP Worm
Infested which will only be available on the bands site, MB site, and on the
tour. Here is a list of dates that we have so far and more are on the way.

KING’S X just confirmed to tour as direct support for Dio!
King’s X will be going out as direct support for Dio on his upcoming tour
scheduled to start in mid November 2002. The line up is Dio, King’s X, and
Hammer Fall. More info and dates will be made available over the next few
weeks. King’s X has been embarked on 3 major US tours since the release of
their latest album Manic Moonlight that hit streets in September 2001. So
what does the band have in mind next… well they are working on new material
for am upcoming album that should be out in the early half of 2003. More
info coming soon!

GWAR tour…The Bitch is Back!
"The Bitch is Back" tour is just that, Slymenstra's back with a bloody
vengeance. She was out in Hollywood hanging out with all her celebrity
friends and didn't make it on GWAR's "Violence Has Arrived" album. This
outraged Slymenstra so now she's back, pissed off and out to kick ass! Rumor
has it that she is out for blood and her big return will entail the
castration of many artists and her quest for the ultimate vengeful act; the
pursuit to castrate the mighty Oderus!

Creed e-news 10/10 - Message from Scott Stapp

Hey Creed fans -

It is with sincere regret that we must announce that Creed is being forced to rearrange our tour schedule for the rest of the year. Earlier this year we had to cancel tour dates after I was involved in a car accident where my car was rear ended on an Orlando interstate. This tour cancellation caused me to embark on the rest of the year's tour by aggressively trying to play the already scheduled shows as well as trying to make up all of the canceled dates in a short amount of time. This ambitious tour schedule ultimately proved to be too aggressive and I am now suffering from acute laryngitis due to the swelling of my vocal chords, was caused by excessive wear and tear. Upon consultation with multiple doctors, the only solution to ensure that we are still able to visit all of the markets where we had scheduled shows is to reschedule the entire tour in a more realistic manner.

The one show that was unable to be moved is our Alcatraz show in San Francisco on October 10. We booked the show two weeks ago as a favor to VH1 when the previously scheduled artist cancelled at the last minute. Despite direct orders from my ear, nose, and throat specialist Dr. Joseph Sugerman, and at the risk of possibly causing further damage to my vocal chords, the band and I have decided to do a shortened set due to the fact that are 600 winners that have already been flown in from around the country that have taken time off of work and made extensive personal arrangements to see the show. Us playing this show is only being made possible by me taking an anti-inflammatory shot known Decadron that, although it can't be taken on a daily basis, will temporarily ease the swelling in my throat.

Contrary to popular belief, we aren't being paid for the show, the only reason we are doing it is that we simply feel like we must make some attempt to honor this commitment out of respect for the time, effort, and trouble that the fans must have gone through to make it to this show. The Wallflowers have graciously agreed to come and play the rest of the evening so that the other promotional, charity, and television commitments that we had made can be fulfilled.

Hopefully the radio stations that have supported these shows, the promoters that have worked so hard to promote these shows, and most importantly our loyal fans that have supported us for the last six years, will understand my situation and forgive the inconvenience that this has caused them.

We have every intention of playing all of the shows that we are scheduled to do this year including a fan appreciation show in Las Vegas where the band feels that due to my vocal illness, our show wasn't up to Creed's standards. The one exception is the show in Boise, Idaho and that show's status is still to be determined. The rescheduled dates are as follows:

10/20 Los Angeles, CA
10/23 San Francisco, CA
10/25 San Diego, CA
10/29 Las Vegas, NV (Fan Appreciation Show)
10/30 Bakersfield, CA
11/29 Spokane, WA
12/2 Sacramento, CA
12/6 Phoenix, AZ

Thank You,
Scott Stapp
