Taproot In Chains
In an extensive new video interview posted on their official website www.taprootmusic.com, Taproot members Stephen Richards and Mike DeWolf revealed that they had hoped to line up a guest appearance from Alice In Chains frontman Layne Staley on their forthcoming new album "Welcome" just before his unfortunate death. The group worked with producer Toby Wright on the effort, a man who worked with Alice In Chains on numerous occasions in the past, and as such the idea came up for Wright to fly to Seattle, WA to discuss the possibility of a collaboration with Staley and the band. However, as Wright boarded the plane to Seattle to meet up with Staley, the news broke about his body being found. "Welcome" is currently slated for an October 15th release through Velvet Hammer Music/Atlantic.
