Foo Fighters axe man Chris Shiflett and brother Scott, who plucks the four-string for Face to Face, have teamed up with Face to Face frontman Trever Keith and session drummer Josh Freese (Vandals, A Perfect Circle) to record an album as Viva Death. According to Billboard, the 15-song set will be released August 27 from the good folks at Vagrant. Chad Blinman, who produced Face to FaceÕs latest Vagrant album How To Ruin Everything, was behind the boards for Viva DeathÕs self-titled debut as well. If scheduling can be worked out, Viva Death may tour behind the album, though no dates have been confirmed as of yet. Stay tuned for more info

Killswitch Disengage Pt.2
Recent rumors heavily suggest that Killswitch Engage have parted ways with their frontman Jesse David Leach. The split is said to have been caused by him wanting to spend more time with his wife, whom he recently married, as well as a change in his beliefs. Despite this though, a press release was issued by Roadrunner today on the matter suggesting that Leach is only merely taking a break and plans to return at a latter date. The press release is as follows:
"Due to personal issues and vocal strain, Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach has announced that he is taking a break from the band's current tour featuring Kittie, Poison the Well and Shadows Fall. The band is in the midst of vocal rehearsals in order to carry on the tour without Leach, but anticipate his return in the future.
In regards to the tour, Leach issued the following statement: "Due to personal circumstances out of my control, I will not be able to hit the road with Killswitch Engage on our upcoming tour run. I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to Roadrunner Records, and more importantly, to our fans. We are currently training another vocalist to do the tour and to carry the torch until I am well. My apologies to everyone, but I have to do what needs to be done."
