Contrary to rumors flying far and wide Ozzy has not been
invited by President George W. Bush to the White House for a
what-would-be most unusual summit of the minds. The story
started in England in one of that country's infamous tabloids
but the real story is that Ozzy and Sharon have been invited by
one of their new fans, Fox News Channel talking head Greta Van
Susteren, to the White House Press Correspondents Dinner
May 4. And yes, the President WILL attend the dinner, along
with a host of other politicos and journalists.

Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, The Rosie O'Donnell Show,
20/20, cover of USA Today, Regis and Kelly, Tonight Show with
Jay Leno--the list goes on! It is the highest profile Ozzy has
ever had in his illustrious 32-year career and it goes without
saying this is the funniest era: dog shit,
bubbles, "pimpmobiles", vacuum cleaners (AKA vac sabbath). Who
isn't laughing? Apparently very few Americans between the ages
18 and 34 as "The Osbournes" episode 7 (air date: April 16) was
the sixth highest rated show on all of televsion in that
demographic group and the highest rating *ever* for MTV. Second
season? We're betting on it.

That's right, hot off the success of the series Epic Records
has begun to assemble an Osbournes soundtrack, to be executive
produced by none other than everyone's favorite 16 year old
mogul, Jack Osbourne! No information on acts or tracklisting as
of yet but Jack's sister Kelly will make her recording debut
with her spunky version of "Papa Don't Preach", the 1986
Madonna classic. More details as they become available.

Ozzy has been tracking several songs for the last couple weeks
in a Hollywood studio, three of which will make the final cut
as bonus tracks to Ozzy's eagerly anticipated "Live at Budokan"
CD, coming this summer on Epic. More info soon.

Pick up your dog's dung with your very own Ozzy pooper scooper!
Pit Jack & Kelly against each other with Osbournes action
figures! And of course let everyone know you'd rather be living
with the Osbournes with a custom t-shirt. The Osbournes merch
is coming. Click here to sign up for the Osbournes mailing
list and get the first updates on all the fun stuff that's
coming down the pike very, very soon:

Rain When I Die
As more details are released regarding the circumstances of Alice In Chains frontman Layne Staley's unfortunate death, it seems more and more likely that the cause of death was related to his much publicized struggle with heroin addiction. According to recent Associated Press reports, heroin related drug paraphernalia was found around his body and he had passed away around two weeks ago, only to recently be discovered after worried relatives called the police to check on the residence. However, despite such findings an official cause of death has yet to be determined and could take up to a few weeks depending on how long the tests conducted by the coroner take. In the meantime, various musicians including the remaining members of Alice In Chains themselves have commented on the loss, for the full article check here.

Nickelback File Suit
Just two months after members of Nickelback were slapped with a lawsuit claiming they had broken a contract, three members from the band have filed their own lawsuit against their former manager. A writ was filed last week in the B.C. Supreme Court, claiming that Amar II Canada Productions Inc. and Clyde Hill, one of Amars principals, are illegally holding the master copy of an album called, Curb and that they plan to sell it to a third party. Chad and Michael Kroeger and Ryan Peake from Nickelback allege that they have lost income because the defendants have deprived them of using the album. According to Nickelbacks Canadian label, their most recent album Silver Side Up has sold more than six million copies worldwide.

Eminem Pays To Look Tough
Eminem has reportedly just paid 100,000, thats over $225,000 Canadian, to keep Slim Shady looking real. According to dotmusic.com, next months edition of the Face magazine featuring Eminem had the rapper in a pink T-shirt on the front cover. Apparently the original photo had the rapper wearing a red T, but it ended up being digitally altered so as not to clash with the colour scheme of the front cover. Reports say Em bought every copy of the May edition in order to get them all destroyed before hitting newsstands next week. Reprints will now have to be made with a tougher looking Slim on the cover. According to worldpop.com, Eminem took the issue very seriously. He reportedly threatened to never enter the UK again if the copies werent destroyed.
He might look gay if he had a pink shirt on?
