Uncivilized
Due to some legal issues, the new group featuring former members of Rage Against The Machine along with Chris Cornell, were not able to fully secure the rights to the name Civilian, and as such are currently deciding upon a new moniker. At present the band are finishing up some studio work on their forthcoming debut expected out in the summer/fall through Epic and are slated to play the Main Stage of this years Ozzfest.

Paratool
Tool have officially lined up the track "Parabola" as the next single from their latest release, "Lateralus". The song is set to impact at radio on April 02nd and a video for it is in the works.

Penis No More?
Ipecac Records have issued a statement regarding the recent incident which took place in London, ENG, regarding Mike Patton urinating on the photo pit and security from the stage during Tomahawk's set. It is as follows:
"Ok. So THE story has gotten a little out of control. It's time we clear the rumors up. First of all, it was not real urine or a real penis. Secondly, Mike Patton was not arrested. Thirdly, it can all be blamed on Nu Metal. Really!
So Mike Patton and the band Tomahawk roll into London on March 10th for their triumphant packed show at the Astoria. Before the show, though, there was business to attend to. It turns out that several members of Nu Metals inner circle(who happened to be in London) had requested a pow wow with the Godfather of Nu Metal, Mike Patton. The topic for discussion was to get Mike's approval for a Faith No More tribute record as well as to mull over the multi-million dollar offer for a Faith No More reunion, Nu Metal festival tour. Attending the meeting were potential tour participants, Chino(Deftones), Brandon (Incubus), Fred(Limp Bizkit), Coby(Papa Roach), Joey(Slipknot) and Gavin(Bush) along with Mike Patton and Bill Gould(Faith No More).
The meeting was going smoothly until for an unknown reason, Patton stormed out of the meeting. He later told Tomahawk bandmate, John Stanier, that Chino was very drunk and making unrealistic demands having to do with financial issues. As Patton left the venue a member of the Astoria security crew grabbed him and told him to get his "skinny little ass back in the meeting and make it happen!". Mike refused and a shoving match ensued. After cooler heads prevailed the meeting was adjourned and Tomahawk prepared to take the stage. Before taking the stage Tomahawk bandmates Kevin Rutmanis and Duane Denison lightened Mike's dark mood by showing him the toys they purchased earlier in one of London's finest fetish stores. One of the items was a rubber dildo that squirts water. Mike decided that this would be the perfect prank to get even with the Nu Metal lovin' hooligan security guard.
I think everyone knows the rest of the story and has seen the pictures. When Mike was apprehended back stage and pulled the dildo from his pants, the tension was relieved and all parties had a laugh about it except the photographers at the front of the stage that thought it was real.
On a side note Mike did give his blessing to the tribute record but vetoed the Nu Metal festival... for now! Stay tuned!"

Ozz Doesn't Get Stoned
Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland recently commented to Launch on the bands upcoming plans for the summer, here's what he had to say:
"You know we were asked to play the Ozzfest, but we turned it down, and it's not because we don't think Ozzfest is a viable tour, it obviously is a viable tour. It's been around for quite some time, now and it's pretty successful and not to mention lucrative. But lucrative is not always the best reason to do a tour. I think we're more interested in the music that nobody has heard yet. And a lot of music we haven't even heard yet ourselves. In a sense I'm hinting around that we're looking towards making another record."

Shutting Radio Down
Pitchshifter have lined up the track "Shutdown" as the first single from their upcoming new album "P.S.I>", due out through Sanctuary on May 07th. The album's title stands for "Pitch Shifter Industries". For now, band frontman J.S. Clayden commented on the new effort, stating:
"The new record is leaner, meaner and heavier than anything we've done before. The new sound is energy and excitement personified; P.S.I. is a rush from start to finish. I would say we combined the best elements of the last two records and took them one step further for P.S.I. This record sounds like Pitchshifter 2002. More mature, more solid, and with a replenished rawness."
The band are planning to embark on a world tour this summer.

The Key To Radio
Deadsy will be shipping their first single, "The Key To Grammercy Park", to radio for adds on April 09th. The song features a guest appearance from Korn frontman Jonathan Davis and comes from the groups forthcoming Elementree/Dreamworks debut "Commencement", due out in stores on May 14th

Phantom View
Incubus have tapped Phantom Planet to open the second half of their upcoming U.S. trek. The band will play on all dates from May 24th through till July 03rd.

Opinions. They can be dangerous things. You have two options: You can annoy all your friends and co-workers with long-winded arguments or you can vent here. The choice is yours. The Rage Page is updated each and every Wednesday, so keep those emails coming.

Here are a few of the finer sentiments our LOUD viewers have expressed to us over the last week:

Stop playing the same videos, for bajebus sakes!!

There are sh** loads of other bands that need more recognition on this show! With Canada's "lower censorship standards" it's quite obvious to me that you perhaps could play some Six Feet Under videos, other Cannibal Corpse videos (OTHER than 'Devoured by Vermin') that tend to be banned from US video stations... Now, if you were the music enthusiast that you portray yourself to be, then you should make it a personal mission to obtain music videos from as many bands as possible!

Come on George!...Get some new videos in rotation!! Or how about introducing some other international bands? Ones from South America? Germany (Knorkator? Megaherz?)

The possibilities are endless here George...and since you are the man in the limelight, you should be helping us broaden our musical tastes by exposing more bands. Talk to whoever you must, even if it has be Moses Znaimer himself, tell him that the fans of Loud demand more! MORE! MORE! MORE! and not the same videos that you keep rotating. I hope your video collection is not as limited as i think it is. PROVE ME WRONG... PLEASE!

- T.S.

I think you should diss bands you don't like even if it does piss people off. Cause it's your opinion. Who cares what people say back to you. If they didn't like what you had to say, then why would they waste their time writing to you telling you about how they didn't like what you said.

p.s. my girlfriend loves you.

- Rob, St-John's, Newfoundland

Let me speak on this...

I'm tired of people bashing the s**t out of all kinds of hard rock, if the s**t is loud and it makes you wanna kick ass then thats a good f***ing song! If it doesn't then don't go taking the wind outta the sails of the people that like it. To each one their own. If you don't like drowning pool then don't listen to them, if you absolutely dispise Anthrax don't f***ing tell the whole world. No one wants to f***ing hear your bitch ass complaining. I listen to everything loud. From Godsmack to Guns n' Roses, from Slayer to System of a down and all things in between. If all you haters want to attack someone attack Britney Spears and NYSNC, not your own metal brethern. Thats all i wanted to say, oh and one more thing:

R.I.P - Fear Factory

- Chris
