Queen of the Damned Press Release

JANUARY 29, 2002 BURBANK, CA In a rare partnering of sister labels, Warner
Bros. Records and Reprise Records are set to release the soundtrack for the film
QUEEN OF THE DAMNED on February 19. Making this pairing particularly unique is
the simultaneous release of "duel" singles to radio, one on each respective
label Cold from Static-X (Warner Bros.) and Forsaken featuring David
Draiman of Disturbed (Reprise). The move signals high hopes for the
star-studded release.

The film, QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, taken from famed goth author Ann Rice's "Vampire
Chronicles" series, is poised to hit theaters February 22.

The groundbreaking soundtrack features five original recordings crafted by the
songwriting team of Jonathan Davis and veteran score composer Richard Gibbs.
Each track features its own special guest vocalist, borrowing the talents of
rock revolutionaries Chester Bennington from Linkin Park, David Draiman of
Disturbed, Wayne Static from Static X, Jay Gordon from Orgy and the ubiquitous
Marilyn Manson. The vocal styling of each participant interprets the haunting
and dark melodies in such a fashion that even the vampire Lestat would be

QUEEN OF THE DAMNED is an adaptation of the novel by the same name, which tells
the tale of legendary vampire Lestat, a creature who steps from murky shadows of
anonymity to rise to superstardom as rock star worshipped by all. In the films
musical segments, Lestat is voiced by Davis. Unknowingly, Lestat and his music
have lured the long banished vampire queen, Akasha, from her crypt, reawakening
her thirst for world domination. The film also has the distinction of being the
last completed project by the late songstress Aaliyah in the title role of
Akasha, Queen of the Damned.

Also making mega-musical contributions to the QUEEN OF THE DAMNED soundtrack are
Deftones, Papa Roach, Godhead, Disturbed, Static X and WB/Reprise newcomers Dry
Cell and Earshot (album out May 6th).

Gibbs, former Oingo Boingo keyboardist, has created the sound for several other
films including Say Anything and 10 Things I Hate About You.

Davis and Gibbs have also teamed up to create the film's score with a full
symphony orchestra.

Visit www.wbr.com/queenofthedamned for additional information on the soundtrack
including the ability to hear the soundtrack in its entirety. Fans will also be
able to send digital movie/soundtrack trading cards from the site.

February Update - New teams

What's Up StreetWise,

As always, here is your monthly update letting you know what's new and happening
in the "wonderful world" of StreetWise. The information in these e-mails is
VITAL to your StreetWise existance!!! Read it, learn it, LOVE IT!!!

"It's funny--a lot of times after hearing our songs, people say, 'I just want to
give you a big hug, and tell you it's okay," says Earshot with a
self-deprecating laugh that reveals their less-intense side. But connecting at
such a powerful emotional level was Earshot's goal from the beginning. In 1999,
the friends convened in a Los Angeles rehearsal space, after settling on the
West Coast from such far-flung places as Austria, France, Kansas and Ohio.

"We all had a common vision. "We wanted to be a heavy rock band, but take it a
step further--make it more melodic and stylistically diverse, instead of just
pounding out heavy songs for the sake of it. We wanted there to be substance to
what we played." Signed to Warner Bros. on the strength of their hook-heavy
tunes and simmering live show, the band entered A&M Studios with David Kahne
(Paul McCartney, Sugar Ray, Sublime). The producer captured Earshot's dynamic
personality on hard disk, with a minimum of overdubs. Then the band mixed the
album in New York with Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, At The Drive-In).

Watch out and be on the lookout for this up and coming band. Check out the song
"Get Away" on the bands page of the StreetWise website and see what they are all

Due out May 7th on Maverick Records, HOME TOWN HERO's self-titled debut album
was produced by John Travis (Kid Rock, Buckcherry, Save Ferris), mixed by Rick
Will (Incubus, Ben Harper, Joseph Arthur) and mastered by Howie Weinberg
(Nirvana, The Cure, Red Hot Chili Peppers).

The album features 12 tracks, including the lead-off single, "Questions," which
is also a featured track on the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 soundtrack.

Formed two years ago and based on the west coast, just north of Los Angeles,
HOME TOWN HERO's members came together after playing in a mix of local bands
from that area. The group has headlined club dates up and down the west coast
and has toured the US and Canada as part of the Van's Warped Tour lineup in the
summers of 2000 and 2001. During this time, the band released an independent
five-song EP which they sold on the road at shows.

Remember...the choice is yours. Do we "Use It Or Lose It?" You all need to
vote and let us know if this band is worthy of being on the StreetWise roster.
