Price of Virginity

Amen have now officially parted ways with Virgin Records. A statement from band frontman Casey Chaos on the matter reads:
"We would like to thank all the past and present employees at Virgin for the last two years of hard work and dedication. Congratulations with putting up with us for that long! We wish you all the best in your new direction."
The band remain a part of the I AM Recordings roster and are expected to line up a new label in partnership with I AM to release their recently completed new album shortly.

Time To Cross

Crossbreed are currently working on new material for their next effort. Around four new tracks have been written so far, though the only known song title at present is, "Time To Bleed".

Back To IOWA

Slipknot are expecting to begin work on their new album in the coming weeks. Band bassist Paul Grey/#2 recently talked to MTV about the effort stating:
"We've got a bunch of different riffs together, some are really heavy and some are more technical. We want to get tighter with the songwriting. Everybody has their own version of what should happen, so when we get in the studio we're gonna take everybody's different ideas and try to make them blend smoothly."
He also went on to state:
"Since we're a lot heavier than Linkin Park, a lot of people think they're better musicians than us, but we can play just as fuckin' well. We're gonna write song stuff that will maybe shut up a few of the people who don't think we can actually play."
In other news, Gray also discussed the bands recent decision to tone down their track, "My Plague", with the (New Abuse Mix) version, due out on the upcoming "Resident Evil" Soundtrack, set to hit stores on March 12th through Roadrunner/Island/Def Jam. He explained it by saying:
"You can sit there and listen to a Jay-Z song on the radio, and half the lyrics are cut out, so we mixed it up and changed it so our song wouldn't be all cut up and shitty sounding."

Nice Bailey

Filter have lined up Al Bailey as their new touring guitarist. At present, the group are planning to release their new album, "The Amalgamut", through Reprise/Warner in July. An as of yet unannounced first single from the album is expected out in June, while an mp3 of a track from the new effort is set to be posted on the bands official website, www.officialfilter.com, sometime in the coming weeks.
