CRADLE OF FILTH Get Conceptual On "Damnation And A Day" - Jan. 4, 2002

CRADLE OF FILTH's forthcoming debut CD for the Sony label has a working title of Damnation And A Day, and will be another conceptual work (in the vein of Cruelty & The Beast). At the moment, CRADLE OF FILTH are scheduled to demo several of the new tracks at New Rising Studios in Peldon, UK (where they recorded their Bitter Suites To Succubi CD) later this month, before re-entering the studio in May to record the full-length CD for a late summer release. If all goes according to plan, CRADLE OF FILTH will also appear at this year's Ozzfest UK Festival, which is due to take place this summer at Donington. Plans also exist for a full South American tour sometime after the album's completion late next summer, possibly around late September/early October.

VEX RED To "Smile" On February 4th - Jan. 4, 2002

Britian's VEX RED will issue "Can't Smile", the first single off their Ross Robinson-produced debut album, entitled Start With A Strong And Persistent Desire, on February 4th through I Am/Virgin Records. The full-length CD will follow on February 18th. In other news, VEX RED will play a one-off show at King Tut's in Glasgow on February 19th.

Linkin Park Have Year's Top Album

"Hybrid Theory" moved 4.8 million copies in 2001. Linkin Park's debut record, Hybrid Theory, was the best-selling record of 2001, according to SoundScan, the music industry's record keeper of sales for all music products.
