A Slave For Britney?
Britney Spears reportedly celebrated her 20th birthday with a private performance from a male stripper. And, no, his name wasn't Justin Timberlake. The princess of pop's parents were even on hand as Steven Peters stripped at Britney's birthday bash. According to Peters, Britney said his "gift" was the best birthday present she's ever received. Peters' performance obviously topped Justin's gifts of Baccarat crystal glasses, a baby blue teddy bear and some silver candelabras.
Members of Incubus and Cypress Hill, along with Beastie Boys' DJ Mix Master Mike, have recorded with former Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee for the second Methods of Mayhem album, which is due out May 21st. Rumour has it that, although a tracklist has yet to be confirmed, a cover of David Bowie's "Fame" is expected to make the cut on the as-yet-untitled release. Tommy Lee has said, "It's going to be awesome, we have so many insane tracks, everyone is having a hard time picking a single."
James Hetfield Reappears
Metallica frontman James Hetfield is back home from alcohol rehab and has returned to the band's fold. Hetfield entered rehab in July, when Metallica were halfway through recording their next album as a threesome. The frontman thanked fans for their support through a short message on the band's web site. The full band--including Hetfield--plan to return to the studio to finish their eighth album in the new year. "My rough road has become smoother reading the show of support from friends I've met through Metallica," reads Hetfield's web site message. "Thank you. They move me deeply."
Mike Patton of Faith No More/Mr. Bungle fame recently tracked his parts for Team Sleep's forthcoming debut outing, which is planned for a March/April release through Maverick. Patton is set to appear on the track tentatively titled "Kool-Aid Party", while other rumored guest appearances include Mary Timony of Helium on the track "Ligeia". Guest spots from members of the Deftones as well as Phallucy's Sonny Mayugba, Deadsy's P. Exeter Blue, Melissa Auf Der Maur of Hole/Smashing Pumpkins fame and Shaun Lopez of Far/The Revolution Smile fame are rumored to show up as well.
A Night Of Merry Dreams
The final two dates of the A Night Of Merry Mayhem Tour, which features Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Mudvayne, SOiL and Onesidezero, have been canceled due to routing problems. The ill fated dates were originally set to take place in Los Angeles, CA and San Diego, CA in late December. In related news, Rob Zombie recently directed the video for Ozzy Osbourne's new single "Dreamer", at a shoot which took place in Los Angeles, CA on November 27th and 28th. The track comes from Ozzy's latest release "Down To Earth", which was recently certified gold for sales in excess of 500,000 in the U.S.
The Shadows Feline Existence
Kittie are now heavily rumored to be eyeing both Chimaira and Shadows Fall to open for them on their impending European trek early next year. No official word has been given.

Methods Of Mayhem's forthcoming new album, which is as of yet untitled, has been set for a May 21st release through MCA. The album will feature Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd and guitarist Mike Einziger on a track entitled "Blue, while Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys fame, Cypress Hill frontman B-Real and DJ Z-Trip are all expected to make guest appearances on the album as well. The first single from the outing is being eyed to impact in March.
Jimmy Eat Conan
Jimmy Eat World are set to perform on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" on December 18th.
Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is set to appear on MTV's TRL tomorrow, Wednesday December 05th, with a "major announcement" regarding the bands ongoing guitar search.
Gardening Machine Pt.2
A tentative February 26th release date has been set for the forthcoming debut release from Rage Against The Machine, with new frontman Chris Cornell. Although it was originally announced that the band would adopt a new moniker for the release, various industry sources are now suggesting that they will in fact keep the name. More details to come.
